Finding a web design company can be a difficult and confusing process. Fortunately, if you live in the Houston area (or any other large metro area for that matter), there are a lot of options.

The key is to find a company that is right for your specific requirements. I have two suggestions:

1. Ask around. Look at some of your customer or vendor websites and see which ones you like. If you find some, just ask about their experience working with the company. If the answer is positive, I’d contact them immediately.

2. Look online. Unlike many other industries, you can actually view a web design company’s work online. Look at their website and their portfolio. If you like what you see, give them a call.

Once you’ve narrowed down the search to a few companies based on what you’ve seen, then you need to find out if they are right for your project. Do you need a template website or a custom web design? Do you need a content management system (to update the website regularly)? Do you need custom database programming or software?

Answers to these questions should narrow your choices to just a couple of company’s. At this point, you need to meet with them. If it’s a custom website design, the process can take some time. It’s important to be comfortable with the team.
